Overview
mindful browse is a Chrome extension that adds a brief cooldown pause before you visit websites you've chosen to block. It does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
Data collected
The extension stores the following data locally on your device only, using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.sync:
- Your list of blocked websites
- Your cooldown duration preference
- Your custom reminder messages
- Your chosen color theme
This data is synced across your own Chrome browsers if you are signed into Chrome. It is never sent to any external server.
Data we do not collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your browsing history
- Personally identifiable information
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Any data to third parties
Permissions
The extension requests the following Chrome permissions, used solely to provide its core functionality:
- webNavigation — to detect when you navigate to a blocked site
- tabs — to redirect tabs to the cooldown page
- storage — to save your preferences locally
- alarms — to expire approved sessions after your chosen duration
- host permissions — to intercept navigation to any user-specified domain
